Nothing too exciting has happened recently... I was ridiculously sick last weekend... on Thursday I wasn't hungry (oh, the horror!) then on Friday I was so dizzy that I fell down twice and my throat was burning, then Saturday and Sunday I was a sweaty shivery crying mess. Of course, I made a deal with God that if I got better fast, I would be a nicer person, and as I was already wearing pyjamas to sleep in (ak!) just in case I died, really, I think that a prayer/deal was needed. Of course, God came through, because on Monday I went to the doctor, and he gave me some magic pills and I got all better in a day. Magic pills indeed. I am now a nicer person. I promise.
The Girls From Ori (who are generally referred to by their initials) and I have still been having Girls' Nights, which are great, because who doesn't love the kimbap shop??? Last night's took us to a bar where we drank way too much and one of us (nameless and initialless) waxed poetic about her love for alternative sexual orfices. The Koreans looked on.
It's Lunar New Year, so yesterday, the kids wore their hanboks. Cute! At the end of the month, the kids graduate (SOB!), and I get new kids (SOB again!!!). I'll really miss them, even though they've been slightly hellionish lately.
May was teaching them to bow properly... they all looked so beautiful!
There's something fun planned for Sunday, so if all goes as planned, I should have a funny story or two. Keep in touch.
Last week, 200 000 chickens were slaughtered because they found some more bird flu... this time they were 40 minutes from where I am. Sucky, eh? I think that it brings the total up to 2 million chickens killed since November. So, in the spirit of that, here are some chickens that live near my house (not killed, obviously).
Oh, well, I just remembered this when I started posting pictures from my camera, BUT here's more awesome Korean TV! Not only is there a cat who rides around with a turtle, BUT SOMEONE HAS A PET BEAR!!!!! And the bear thinks that he is a dog, or so I imagine the t.v. was saying. It's a special kind of Korean bear, because it has a white chest. I tried to find out some more info about these special bears, but when I googled "korean bear" as an "I'm Feeling Lucky" search, I came up with http://www.koreanbear.net , which is a special massage parlour where there are wineglasses in the room (for real!) and tubes of something called "wet n hard". Consequently, I have no extra info about the special Korean bears in my T.V. photos, but if you go to the link that I provided and click on the "staff" page, you will see many more photos of Korean Bears. Different than mine though.
P.S. In the first photo, the bear is on the left, then there is a white dog, then a brown and black dog. I *do* know that the animal in the middle of the picture is a dog.
