People here are very VERY nice. It's like Canada with nicer voices and bigger guns. I'm in the bookstore and all of these strangers are chatting me up, and I don't get the impression that they want something.
You should see the houses here; they're huge and big-lawned, and the sort of places that you would stand around in a big hat drinking a mint julep. It's too bad that nothing really funny has hapened to me yet, but it's only 10 am, so I'm sure it will come.
